Dear friends in yoga,

We are happy to let you know that the compilation and editing of "COLLECTED WORKS" of Sri Guruji of which many of you had the opportunity of seeing the ten volumes of the first draft, is progressing well and hopefully the first volume will be out for 1998.

The editing work is done under direct guidance of Geetaji and Sri Guruji agreed very kindly to check the final text.

We look forward to receive as soon as possible more material from all of you to make the book complete to the maximum.

We prefer the transcriptions to the tapes, and the floppies or email to the transcriptions. However, in the case of transcriptions from audio-tapes we would like to have a copy of the audio-tape itself to make an eventual checking easier.

Here are some points which will help us tremendously to go faster in using the material sent by you:

  1. The software used will be Word for Windows, 2.0.

  2. All Sanskrit words except yoga, yogi and yogic will be italicized, Ex.-asana, pranayama, atma...
All the Sanskrit words will be in lower case.
Inverted commas or quotations marks will not be used, as all the words are italicized.

  3. Proper nouns will never be italicized, and of course the first letter will be in upper case. Ex.: Visnu, Vasista.

  4. The titles of books will be italicized. inverted commas will not be used. Ex.: Light on Yoga, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Yoga Sutra.

  5. Only the first letter of the first word of the chapters of Patanjali's Yoga Sutra will be in upper case. Ex.: Samadhi Pada
The sutras will be referred to using Roman and arabic characters. Ex.: chapter 2, sutra 25 will be written as 11.25 or (11.25).

  6. All Sanskrit words will be spelt as they are in the glossary of Light an the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and the names of asanas and pranayamas will be spelt as in Light on Yoga and in Light on Pranayama .

  7. The paragraphs will start with a tab-space (1.27 cm, or 05`). There will be one blank line between two paragraphs.

  8. There should not be any space before colons and semi-colons. There should be one space after them Ex.: The eight limbs of yoga are: yama, niyama ...

  9. In the Q&A texts, the question will be in bold, the answer in normal style.

  10. The margins are not very important, as we shall be reformatting them.
